Help please with installing pc game

hi just bought Oblivion and having trouble installing. It shows intro then just before game starts pc crashes, goes into standby. Just wondered if anyone can give any advice as to what /why this is happening....many thanks in advance. also something about video card comes up.

What graphics card have you got? I think you need a pretty decent one to play this game.

Try and get the latest drivers for your graphic card from the manufacturers website.

Just got this game last night, stunning graphics, looks absolutely brilliant, but it takes a fairly uptodate pc to run it, it runs fine on my Dell 5150, with a 256 ati graphics card, anybody thinking of buying it have a look at the specs.
