BIT OF BACKGROUND....
I am currently looking for a new % balance transfer card, and I keep fairly regularly looking, quickly, on here..so far I haven't been able to get one due to having current balances on MBNA and therefore can't get a new one associated with MBNA...I have a barclaycard balance, sonycard (MBNA) balance, HSBC balance, I think (?) off the top of my head, RBS nearly paid off now, Tesco card, M&S % purchases- which is used for only for online shopping purchases and paid off more or less, each time I purchase, - which runs out of % in oct I think....its not too much debt all put together, at a guess, its approx £4000. I had different ones (credit card0%'s balance transfers) due to balance transfers allowing only so much to be transferred. So done balance transfer with each...But all balances need to /will soon need to, be put to a new 0% card now...
This week whilst paying off credit card bills - the LLoyds TSB cashier said "oh you are paying interest i see, so why don't you have one of our credit cards instead", , i replied that i already had one which is not in use, this is because if it once did have any benefits to it then they have expired, so its all back to zero balance. She said Oh well we have an offer for existing customers, as I was in a hurry I said well I look on MSE all the time, and I havent seen it there, I don't think...she said "thats cos they dont always put everything on it" ....well i trust MSE to be truthful more than Lloyds TSB...who are trying to make a sale (call me cynical)
!!
So, has anybody done this? is it any good (the deal)? I was unable to wait to see a manager about it, to explain what was what to me, I anticipated at best I'd spend time only to find some reason I couldn't have it and the only purpose served would be that they now had my new phone number or something...(yes I am cynical)
but I've had these time wasting things before.....sorry to sound impatient! but I have lots of stuff to do and very little time....(which is why I like here - online 0%'s) quick and easy...
Is it a good deal? are there pitfalls, can it be done (as an existing customer) quickly, or do I have to sit with a manager telling all the details (which they hold) again...
Any feedback from MSE'rs very much appreciated....

Are you sure they said "an offer for existing customers"? Because in my experience they have several offers...all of which are subject to status (and their whims!).
For example, until I closed my LTSB card recently, after a considerable dormancy period, there was a 0% for 6 months on BTs offer in my secure area (3% BT fee)...and this had been there for around 12 months. I can't imagine the same offer is available for everyone...others may have 7.9% LOB etc.
LTSB told me the best offers were always given online (less work for their CSAs?), so maybe best to check there...assuming you use online banking? If not, you should register.0 -
