Woops! We have been without insurance for several months. How long does no claims discount last for? Never made a claim. Also, if you move home, do you start out again, or do you carry no claims discount with you?

Most companies will accept your no-claims bonus for 2 years.0

Don't know that's true. "No claim bonus" on house insurance is often only accepted if the cover has been continuous.
Though it isn't a universal scheme amongst house insurers and you may find cheaper policies from other companies (not doing a "NCB") by shopping round.0
