my voucher for £500 has come from the insurance and i really need to go to comet tomorrow and get my son his new laptop....can anyone look and see which is the best for this money? it will be for general browsing and mainly for watching dvds and playing music and the odd game....not too heavy but plenty of memory .....thanks
i hope someone can help me choose as i dont trust my own judgement....oh and it has to be pick up from store and not online delivery.....thanks

Their selection of sub £500 laptops isn't great.
If possible, I would add another £29 and get this Acer as it has a dedicated graphics card so it should be suitable for some gaming.
Or if you wanted something with a better processor (and a slightly smaller screen unfortunately), add another £49 and get this Acer instead.0 -
It's a pity you're tied to Comet as there are much better deals elsewhere for that kind of money, but as you are I would agree with Marty J and spend a little more if you can.0

The more expensive one has a dedicated graphics card, which should improve gaming performance, a slightly bigger hard drive, it's a bit lighter, and it has a larger screen.
Conversely, the less expensive one has a better processor and slightly better battery life (if the specs are to be believed).
It's up to you really.0
