With the continual development of faster media, good quality 1x & 2x DVD-R discs are often overlooked. This allows us to buy high quality 1x/2x DVD-R discs at incredibly cheap prices. Sometimes (and in this case) these DVD-R discs are as cheap as CD-Rs.
This Silver Top DVD-R disc is has no branding and the top surface is plain silver. Even so we have checked the dye information and it states this disc is manufactured by TDK. These DVD-R discs have a multitude of uses, you could use them in a standalone recorder, for data archival or even movies.
DVD-R disc have never been so cheap.

OK that's cheap, but one thing I have learned that you should never cut costs on is DVDR media.

Ridisc Xtreme 8x (Ritek G05 dye), £10.99 or thereabouts for 50, 100% success rate and fairly cheap compared to the likes of Taiyo Yuden.

Ritek G05 dye show pretty good results after the intial burn, try re-scanning(cdspeed) them in as little as 3 month's time and see how crap they really are.

These are only 2 speed though, takes 30 minutes to burn 1 dvd.

However diskdepot do have cheap discs in general so thanks for the 1p p&p info. I have used them in the past and their service is excellent.

These looks like the same discs I bought at a computer fair for £10, but that was about 16 months ago. So, considering that discs prices normally go down, this does not appear so cheap today. However, I must say that I have about 2 failing on me in about 200, so they are pretty reliable.

SVP are very good. I recently used them to buy some Taiyo Yuden DVD-R. These are the best quality DVD-R you can get. I highly recommend them. I have yet to get a dodge burn and they will work in any dvd player or drive. The are brilliant. A bit more expensive but well worth it. Link to Taiyo Yuden discs below...

another vote for DiskDepot who have always been good for me, SVP let me down very badly once which was 100% their fault which they admitted but would not resolve and I wouldnt recommend them to anyone after that.

I have dealt with SVP a couple of times and was impressed with the speed of their order process, ordered late in the afternoon and received goods the following day.
