Just about to exchange but issue with spelling of my surname

Hi all, I'm in the final stages of buying my first property. I just received a huge pack of documents and contracts from my solicitor this morning that they want signed and returned ASAP.

Only issue is that the spelling of my surname is the not the same as I would normally use. My surname is Odell, but all over the documents they have used O'Dell. Now this mistake happens quite regularly on post and things and I correct people wherever possible. On my passport it is spelt Odell and all other official documents, however, I have just dug out my birth certificate and to my (and my mothers ) surprise my birth certificate says O'Dell! As far as I know my sisters and fathers says Odell on their birth certificates.

I have phoned my solicitor and left this message and now waiting for a call back.
My question is, how much of an issue is this? I'm guessing for the purposes of the deeds etc my name should actually be spelt right! Also, I'm actually confused now what my name really is if my birth certificate appears to be wrong!

i would sign them and send them back with a note to the solicitor - explaining as above and let them decide if they need to reissue the docs.

i often have one of my names misspelt by one letter but it doesn't seem to matter - you do have an unusual name - so its not as if you are a Jones or a SMith where proving your identity might be difficult...
