Lloyds Bank shares now 78p

Nice to make a few quid out of Lloyds bank (Compensatory Open Offer shares bought at 38p). Wonder if there'll be a dividend this October?

You didn't make any money out of it at all as the open offer reduced the value of your existing shares.

  • The shares were about £1 before the open offer. The open offer never made you any money, that's for sure, although Lloyds would be delighted to hear that some people have been fooled into thinking that it had.

I agree with Tea because you could have sold lloyds for 110 or whatever their high was just previous to the offer.

All the same, anyone who bought below a quid has done ok considering the risks but not as nice as barclays turned out with their parabolic lehmans profits but it could still be better for lloyds in the long term. Results are out soon.

I posted a banking sector review link in the stockmarket thread
  • I was so close to buying earlier on in the week at 72p but i dont like chasing a rising share even though im fairly convinced in the long run it will easily reach 150p+ cant bring myself to risk it!

The existing shares were inherited from my Father. I took up the offer and doubled my offer money. That sounds like making money to me.
