The DG834G has an ADSL Modem integrated so for BT USB ADSL, the modem can be thrown away and the router used instead.
If you have ethernet DSL or Cable (NTL/Telewest), then the cheaper one is the best option for you. Either would do but the more expensive one is so due to the modem.

The Belkin keeps disconnecting after a few mins, it goes into like a standby mode, it cant stay on long enough for me to update firmware but I might get lucky if I can continue to suffer the frustration.0

You tried doing the official reset thing by pressing the small button with a pin?
Also is it under warranty?[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]"The internet is a great way to get on the net."

I had exactly the same problem with the Belkin router i bought (kept intermitently switching itself off, and you can never get through to their "free" helpline.)
Eventually after pulling out all of my hair, i took it back to PC World and exchanged it for the Netgear wg111 108mbps.
I managed to install that easily enough although browsing the internet can be painfully slow, it can take more than 10 seconds for a site to come up.
Having only recently got a wireless network system going though, i'm not sure if this is the norm? (but its doing my head in. )0 -
Which model Belkin is it ?
Some can be flashed with firmwares from other suppliers0 -
If you bought yours from PCWorld, bring it back to PCWorld and ask them if you could exchange it with Linksys WRT54GS..0
