Unless you live in Brighton your co-op account will carry on as normal after BR.

Brighton is the only place where the OR would make you close your existing co-op account.

I opened a Co-op account after BR! THey will insist you have a cashminder account and it is actually very good.

It will or may be frozen for a while so make sure you keep some cash handy, although they will allow you some money for living!

My Nat west current plus account was not touched!! it's been a month since i went BR and the bank don't know i've gone bankrupt...but their still peeing me off because their useless and i'm seriously considering a CO-OP cashminder account because they sound really good, like i say though the OR doesn't even want to interview me, my bank account has not been frozen at all..so it can't be a rule of thumb that bank accounts are frozen.

I took a while for some of my accounts to register the fact that i was BR. It may be worth setting up a co-op account so its ready to use if your natwest account suddenly gets frozen. Either that, or you may want to inform natwest about your BR and see whether they will let you keep it or not. They will find out eventually and you don't want to get caught short!

I opened my Co-op Cashminder account on the day I went BR (in Brighton!). Mentioned this to my OR during my interview, no problem, no interest :) Account hasn't been frozen at all :j Now a big fan of the Co-op :D

    Co op are very good!

I owed my bank about £3k so I had to close mine and get any money out/diverted or they would have had the lot!

Although £24.56 and a can coke would n ot have got ridof them!
