Egg money new charge on cash advances

Egg money have until recently been reviewed favourably in view of the ability to take cash out without any addtional charge.
Over May and June I used this facility on a few occasisions to meet addtional payments as I had over a year ago and paid more than the sum of these withdrawals back (in addtiion to the minimum payment) in the same period
I have noticed that on my most recent complete statement that I have been charged for cash withdrawals at £3 a pop (but no on the previous statement). The online charging "menu" now declares a 3% charge min £3 on cahs withdrawals
It seems that I can find no notification of this change and even accepting the possibility of a single letter going astray, I would regard this change has been applied in a rather stealth manner and not in the spirit of treating its customers fairly.
I have an impeccable record with Egg to date in terms of makling payments and while I carry a Debit Balance have paid more than £1,000 over the required amount in this period. What is more the limit on my card has been reduced by £100! While only £100 it makes no sense unless this is a general cull accross it customers (I know that some time ago Egg dropped those sensible enough and able to pay off their balances completely each month).
Egg used to carry a reaonable credit interest rate with a not too bad rate for debit balances (gone several months ago). It would seem to have lost its allure and, in my view, to have behaved in a underhand manner.

I received a notification by email on 15 May. Didn't say how much the fee would be, just that there would be one, with a link to the site for more details.
Egg didn't cull my account even though I almost always pay the full balance every month. Also managed to miss out on the rate increases.
Sorry to read that you've had much worse experiences with them.0 -
There has always been charges and immediate interest on cash withdrawals which create or add to a debit balance.
There was an email a while back about cash withdrawals on credit balances incurring a charge. They don't do letters IME. If in doubt, send them a secure message asking them to confirm when the change happened - I've always found their CS people pretty helpful.
You can still transfer funds to your current account from a credit balance without incurring a fee by doing it online."A child of five could understand this. Fetch me a child of five." - Groucho Marx0 -
I've had about 3 emails and 2 letters about the Egg changes0

immediate interest YES but charges are new on Egg MONEY (Egg Card may be different)There has always been charges and immediate interest on cash withdrawals which create or add to a debit balance..
One email on such a funemental change is not enough. Spam filters, accidential deletion etc are too common. They took the trouble to write to me on the credit reduction I have no issue with the CS people who are good, but they did not make the decisionTThere was an email a while back about cash withdrawals on credit balances incurring a charge. A moot point. There is no longer the incentive for a credit balance since the interest rarte as decimatedYou can still transfer funds to your current account from a credit balance without incurring a fee by doing it online.0
