I have camcorder clips on my children on video8 tapes.
Is there any way I can tranfer them on my PC, with DVD burning next down the line?

Hi, Go into Amazon and search for "Dazzle" - they do pc cards, leads, software etc. for this purpose. PCWorld sell them too, along with a few other brands. Check the pc requirement on the ends of the box too. Do your homework though - the results can be variable. A largish harddrive and plenty of RAM seems to be necessary. Never tried it myself.

Is it not easirer to get yourself a DVD-recorder to which you can connect the camera and start dubbing straight away. By the end you'll also have a DVD-recorder to back up your VHS and record favorite programs from TV.stefano wrote:I have camcorder clips on my children on video8 tapes.

That would have been my next step, you see my OH has a Dell Inspiron 1300 with DVD Writer, so maybe I can plug the camcorder into the Dell and burn a DVD. Could I?0 -
You could if you have a graphics card with composite or S-video input to attach your camcoder to (otherwise you would need an external source for input like the 'dazzle' thingy' or other hardware). You'll also need movie editing software like nero or power producer to extract the movie into your hard drive before burning them onto DVD.stefano wrote:That would have been my next step, you see my OH has a Dell Inspiron 1300 with DVD Writer, so maybe I can plug the camcorder into the Dell and burn a DVD.
