Hi
I made the mistake of opening a word document from a hotmail attachment, spening hours changing it and then clicking save, rather than save as or anything else. Have been searching for modified version for 80 minutes and gtetting nowhere. From searching various sites and forums, including the hotmail one, it seems that these changes are deffo lost forever. Can anyone quickly confirm or deny this so I can go to bed or cry or stay up and find my document?
Many thanks either way,
Cheers, Bob

Personally I'm always ready to learn, although I do not always like being taught - Sir Winston Churchill0

If you saved it, then you saved the modified version and overwrote the original. 'Save as' gives you the option to save it under a new filename, so you have both versions. No free lunch, and no free laptop0

Could be in your temporary internet files.
In Internet Explorer goto Tools | Internet Options...
Under Temporary Internet Files click the Settings... button
Click the View Files... button
Sort the files by type and look for any word docs.
(Instructions are for IE6 as that's what I have at work)0 -
Hi, it'll be in your TEMP folder.
On the start menu goto RUN and type in %temp%, it should be in that folder, but you'll have to search a bit as the file name will have been randomly generated.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

I'll double check all of that but i'm pretty sure that it's lost forever. I think it gets saved on hotmail's own temorary files. I'm not technical but this is what i've gathered. no idea what it means! And if, you know, your history...0
