Applying for a Card before/after moving?

Ok heres my situation. Im buying a house & had my mortgage offer accepted. we are not at the completion stage but very close.

What I want to do is to applu & get a 0% Purchases Card.
The best I have found are

RBS - 9months (over 4 identical rbs cards to choose from)
Abbey-mbna - 9months
sainsburys-halifax 12months

At one point this year I had 3cards, amex, amazon(halifax)&barclaycard. All giving me something like over £20K credit.
I cancelled my Amazon & barclaycard a couple of weeks ago & reduced my Amex limit to 4K.

Have I lost the chance of getting the Sainsburys card as I have already had a halifax card(amazon)?

If this is the case, the best other option is Royal Bank of Scotland?

With me movin soon, whats the best thing to do regarding applying.

1. Should I apply before the mortgage is fully setup?
2. Or apply when I am ready for the Card, so that i dont lose much time on the 0%months & have it setup to my Parents house, where I live already (even if ive moved by then & simply change the address afterwards)

Also, am I right in thinking the RBS card searches both equifax&experian credit reports & so its pointless choosing a card which only searches one, in the event that one doesnt have my mortgage on yet. When does the credit report say that I can have the mortgage&have got it.

Any advice

Thanks

Lee

One important question is whether the credit reference agencies will have updated their records after you cancelling your cards. This can take some while.

If you have time, you would be well advised to obtain a copy of your credit reports to check this from equifax and experian.

Ring up RBS and ask them which agency they use, and whether they ever use both.

Ultimately you would be better off applying before your move as it is common knowledge that credit card companies do not like people who have just moved.

The ideal situation would be to apply after the agencies have updated their records but before you move.

Finally the best 0% purchases card currently on the market is sainsburys. Good luck!

So I am best getting a credit report for both companies now?
and see if it has my credit cards cancelled and if the mortgage offer is included.

Just rang RBS, they check with both Credit Reports.

Yea i know sainsburys is the best purchases card at the moment, but i had the amazon halifax card, could i still get the sainsburys one? i dont want to apply and be turned down because of that reason & then have had a credit search&mean i have to wait a month before applying for one of the other card.
