Received fake/copy item

I have recently won an ebay item described as 'genuine' and the write up appeared sincere and truthful. I checked the feedback and there wasn't a problem there but now I have my item it is most definately 'not genuine'. I have emailed seller today to let them know I realise what I have and have yet to get a response off them. I have gone through to Paypal and started a claim through them to keep it all legal but what do I now do. Can I get some advice please?

Just hang onto it and when the seller contacts you go from there with refunds.Owed out = lots. :cool:0

Once you escalate the PP claim, they will likely decide that you can send backfor a refund, especially if you can prove that it is not genuine. You will need to make sure that you send it back via trackable post so that you can ensure it is there.0

:silenced: sorry fay, i thought it was a INAD claim?? guess not..i stand corrected.0 -
I had a fake software CD a while back, and PayPal insisted I send it back.
I told them I wasn't going to spend my money returning counterfeit goods to a crooked seller, and that perhaps I should be calling the Police.
They gave me a fiver "goodwill gesture" to cover it.0 -
What was the item and who is the seller so we can block them?mortui non mordent0

You can't block a seller.
Also, I would strongly urge the OP not to post seller details here as that will also identify the OP and that can get problematic on an open forum like this.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Thanks for all your advice. Seller has got back to me saying the item was a gift that she no longer needed and it came in the makers packaging etc, but also said she had never seen the item - how can that be? Anyway I am going through Paypal but don't really want to send this stuff back - it's a £19.00 jewellery charm, some other poor sod will end up with again.DTD - Doing Tesco Daily - while I still have vouchers!0

You're right, it is - but if you send back a fake, it just gets resold. On being provided evidence that something is fake, PP will not insist the item is returned (but they may need to be pestered to remind them they have this policy)My TV is broken!
