Flybe Credit card advice please

I have just applied for a Flybe credit card and it said I have been accepted and my card and pin should be with me within 7-10 days.

Thing I would like to know is... I have had a bit of dodgy credit history in the past but have done my best to be good over the last 12 months. I got a lot of missed payments etc about this time last year as to cut a long story short I was in intensive care and spent 4 months in hospital, during this period my credit card bill didn't get paid.

Are Flybe a decent company to have a card with or are they in the relms of Vanquis, Capital One Classic etc?

Or

Because I have been accepted by them does this mean that my credit history isn't as bad as I thought it was.

  • So far I've found Flybe's customer service to be very good. Card wise its a step up from the sub prime market and you can get 6 months 0% on balance transfers and I believe 3 months 0% on purchases if you applied over the web. You'll probably be in band b or c. b is 24.9% apr with a £1000 limit which I got. c is a higher apr (possibly around 28%? Someone else might be able to shed some light on that).
To be fair, considering you had quite a few missed payments ast year, I am somewhat surprised you managed to get one. But well done all the same.

Why would a few missed payments 12-18 months ago make a difference ? I was always under the impression that missed payments stayed on the credit report for 12 months and that creditors are only interested in recent financial history (6-12 months).
