Have XP and flat screen monitor about 4 year old.
We disconnected all on Thursday to decorate the room and yesterday reconnected.
On doing this I found that all Red had gone fron the screen, the monitor settings remain the same and it does its Autoadjust.
I can not find anything on XP or settings to try to bring the red back, which effects all the colour spectum with web sites different colors and PDF is black anf not red!
Could it be the monitor itself or is there somewhere I can tweek the colour ?
Any help appreciated thanks.

forgot to advise that the actual monitor menu itself display indicate red--so this for sure has to be a Windows problem?????as it is all the XP -windows set up .0

try re seating the cable, i have seen this before0

check the connector at the back and ensure that all the pins are seated correctly.
I have known it where the connector is seated ok but some of the pins are bent and not in the female part of the plug. You got to get through what you've got to go through to get what you want but you got to know what you want to get through what you got to go through.0 -
thanks just tried and sadly to no result!?still the same the monitor is with the old style block pin connector and not usb.0

try waggling the cable about, whilst looking at your screen.
on my last monitor i had to wedge the cable between the wall and the pc as one of the wires inside the cable was fauly0 -
Double check a few times that there isn't a bent pin, if it's bent you might not notice it's bent as it could be lying flat. Then if it still isn't happening pop the lid off the PC and make sure the video card is seated correctly.0
