Student loan and living away from home help please

Options
Ok so for the last 2 years i have been recieving £340ish a month from my student loan and bursary combined, i have been living at home and it has been my step dads income that has been assessed for this (he makes £17,000 a year)

I am thinking of moving in with my friend at the end of August/Start of September. As her flat is across the road from our work, and is much nearer the city centre for uni. I know it will be more expensive than living at home, but it is so much more conveniant for me, especially as i am just starting uni.

Anyway i was wondering, if i am living away from home, does this mean that my loan and bursary will be increased? And does anyone know how much more i will get?

I have not sent away my application for my loan for this year yet, as i am still unsure of what is happening, it depends if i will get more money to cover having to buy my own food/pay electricty etc.

So if anyone knows, i would be grateful!

Thanks

I am assuming as you are getting it monthly you are scottish?

The English one you get more money if away from home, so I suspect Scotland is the same. On your application it does ask where you are staying and 3 options of; Living at home, away in london or away outside london.
  • On the SAAS application it just asks me to put in my address (either parents home or own home) Not term time address.

The is another part to fill out a term time address, but not is you are living away from home...well none that i can see
