Buyers just waiting in the wings ...
Having placed adverts on a number of legitimate motorcycle websites I received a call today from a 'credit agency' whom said they had a number of buyers all ready lined up to purchase my motorcycle.
Being all too aware of these type of calls I dismissed the caller but decided to check out the calling number of 02088881789 to see who they were. Answer "EasySellUK".
My search revealed a rather alarming trend. One site at whocallsme(dot)com(slash)Phone-Number(dot)aspx(slash)02088881789 had a load of ripped off people.
Isn't the internet great?! I am suprised at the number of people still getting ripped off by this sort of company. Don't people check these things out?
Be aware. There actually aren't a whole load of buyers waiting, just a couple of salesmen wanting your credit card details and £100+ for nothing in return.

they take it a step further now too. There's been instances of people who have told them 'no' being phoned up from a sales guy to organise a 'meeting' with a prospective buyer - no mention of paying the fee - then, when you agree, a day or two later they phone you up - obviously now that you have evidence there are 'customers' and coerce you into paying. Of course said prospective buyer never arrives.0

Can't believe this scam is still going. I got stung once in 1991 when I was young and naive, could have done with the 'net and MSE then!0

I cant believe that this is still going on, I reported several of these companies last year to trading standards.
I was selling a Grand Voyager and the phone was red hot but not with byers, with scamers.
I hope everyone else does the same and OP the word bargepole comes to mind.0 -
To my shame I was caught by this lot - have nothing to do with them.
Interestingly, I missed two calls,1 week apart at around 2130 at night. They hadn't withheld their phone number so I rang them - seemed to have a very poor grasp of caravan layout so I wondered whether this was a cover to illustrate that the advert had yielded results?
Anyone any similar experience?0
