undelivered order refund?

My fiance and I have parted and divide all of our belonging apart from the furniture that we have paid for (inc delivery) but has not yet been delivered. We have been refused a refund with the offer of a credit note (which neither of us want). Are we entitled to a refund on goods we have not yet received ?

If you purchased online then you are entitled to a refund under distance selling regs. If you purchased from a shop then I don't think you can insist on a refund because it is simply a "change of mind"0
