Telephone conference equipment

I'm looking for something that will allow people to join in a meeting over the telephone. i.e. if we are having a meeting and some people can't make it in person I was hoping to be able to get some sort of device, a bit like a speaker phone, but that could be left in the middle of the table at the face to face conference to allow others at the other end of a phone to join in. Any ideas?
