Dog going to toilet inside

First of all clean that area thourghly with a bio washing powder solution, let it dry, then spray it with white or surgical spirit (test a small area first of course to make sure it doesn't damage/stain).
It sounds as if it may be anxiety linked. Could she sleep in a crate in your bedroom?
To be honest when we are staying with family she has a bed in our room and it never happens. I don't think my OH would be too keen on her sleeping in our room especially as she does have a habit of jumping on us in the middle of the night to say hello.
Is there anything we can do to reduce her anexity so she is more happier sleeping on her own? During the day she will take herself off and either sleep on our bed or in her bed downstairs on her own. So its not like she won't leave our sides. Although our house has three floors its all open plan so its not like we can shut her in a room!0 -

Hmmm, my dog goes without water all night - but then again, so do I!Well her last wee is 8.30pm as she goes as soon as we start the walk. So getting up at 3am is the same as what you do! She could probably hold on till 6am and to be fair she is normally asleep but its better getting up at 3am than getting woken up to have to let her out.
She should be able to wait until the morning - especially if you let her out for a last wee at 9pm.0 -
Hi Mrcol,
Why not try training mats, i know bit back to basic but I sware by them for my dog. I think you need to keep water down as its summer but just my opinion. But I think the dog mats are great they smell nice, absorbe any mess so it doesn't go onto floore and can just pick them up n throw them away.
At first I did find them expensive, I bought them in pets at home 20 for £12.99 and go through at least one a night, but thought Xmas had come early when I notice pound land sold them 5 in a pack costing me £4 for same amount, so I bought every single pack off the shelf lol but they always have them in, but I think the mats are great always used them.
Hope this helps.

I've seen Victoria Stillwell from It's me or the dog recommend just putting some ice cubes in the bowl, so they release water slowly & the dog can't go mad, they shouldn't be allowed to drink lots after a walk at all, maybe it's just down to that, try some ice cubes!0

Well we tried walking her early in the evening and then just letting her out at 9.30pm to go to toilet which she did. She still drunk load water before bed and when I came down to let her out early morning not only was their a wet patch on the carpet but she had done solids as well.
So she will be caged at night until further notice!0
