Hi , i am a student who is 19 andi am about to start my second year of college
i have part time job where i work 2 hours a day doing a cleaning job during weekdays.
my problem is that i am turning 20 in December which means my mother will no longer get any money for me from the government , she is disabled and can not work , so what benefits could she claim for me , because we will struggle without the current benefits we revive

You could pay her rent for living expenses?
Assuming you will be getting a FT job after college I don't see this would be a problem?0 -
She can't claim any benefits for you and if you're not a lone parent or claim disability benefits yourself, you cannot claim any benefits for yourself either if you are full-time.
Do you get the Adult Learning Grant? Why not visit your student services dept. to see if there's any funding they can offer you? They will not be able to help you with living costs, but there may be some course-related costs they can help with, which will in turn make your wages go further.0 -
She's not going to be able to claim any benefits for you as at 20yrs old you are an adult. You could see if you are eligible for Adult Learning Grant
Have a go at filling in the Online Benefits Advisor form for yourself and also for your mum and see if that suggests anything.0
