I need to cook a meal for 6 on a narrowboat but I'm not sure what facilities there will be.
Does anyone know whether there might be an oven on this 4/6 berth boat?
thanks!

Most narrow boats would have a full size cooker with hob and oven. Probably also some extras like a toster, kettle.0

Although you most likely will get an oven it will probably be smaller but the dishes should be smaller to suit. Just don't plan to cook a large roast with all the trimmings, that's what the canalside pubs are for.0

You should have a 3 or 4 burner LPG (Calor) gas hob and an oven under; which may be smaller than your oven at home.
For safety reasons:-
Avoid open pans with loads of hot water. Forget cooking chips in deep fat etc.
There is no swell on the canals BUT some passing boats will 'rock' your boat and make it sometimes 'snatch' at the moorings. Because they are passing too fast
'Spag Bol' is always an easy boaters meal - only 2 pans and easy to serve etc.
When passing a moored boat please 'slow down'.
Lot's of boaters don't/won't slow down. Just like life ashore - some people have no respect for each other or are just plain thicko's. :eek:You don't stop laughing because you grow old, You grow old because you stop laughing" Large print giveth - small print taketh away. "0 -
The narrowboat we stayed on was a 6 berth and the kitchen was well equipped, it had cooker, 4 rings on top and lots of extras like kettle, toaster etc. We were very impressed.
We were also students at the time, so must admit, the oven only got used to heat up pizza
