Arrears notice on credit card and credit rating

I have a Barclaycard I haven't used for years, although I had not cancelled it (in case of emergency). A transaction from paypal went through on it that I did not know about - usually paypal takes money from my current account so not sure why this happened, although it is linked to paypal.
The card was in my maiden name and old address so the statements went there and the new owner has just forwarded post from the last few months which includes an arrears notice from Barclaycard for missing 2 months payments. I have paid the balance in full and the card is re-instated, but wil this now affect my credit rating and if so for now long as I am looking to buy a house in the next few months? Prior to this my rating was excellent.

You'll show a couple of missed payments on your credit report, but if the card's "back to normal" then you've not Defaulted which is the real black mark. When you say you've paid the balance, watch for residual interest since the last statement, I'm assuming you've updated them with your new address?

A couple of missed payments in an otherwise perfect credit report won't make any difference.

You should look at your credit report to check it all looks good - and to confirm no other dormant cards. Sticky at the top of the forum on how to get them.

I'll request a credit report today.
I've told them my new address and name now, and will probably cancel the card.
