'Couples' travel insurance

Hi
I'm looking at getting some annual travel insurance for me and my girlfriend.
However I have a question about 'couples' insurance.
We're not married so I assume we still qualify as a 'couple'? We don't live together.
Secondly, would we have to travel together on every holiday for the insurance to be valid. For example she often goes holiday and I can't go, so in that case would the insurance be valid as I wouldn't have travelled?
Thanks

You can get couples insurance if your not married however most companies insist you live together (You can find out each Insurers particular requirements by looking up their definition of a couple on the quote page or in the policy wording under "Definition of words).
Bear in mind not all comapnies cover you to travel seperately from each other so check the Insurers wording0 -
You get a good discount for being a couple (versus 2 single policies) with direct-travel insurance. To be a couple you just have to live together.
They allow independent travel for each of you for unlimited trips throughout the year (up to 21 days each trip).0 -
Thanks for your replies.
I should add that we don't live together too!0 -
Can't be an insurance "couple", then.0

Fair enough! Two individual policies it is then. Thanks all.0
