not religious. dont buy easter eggs or send cards although family usually treat the kids to some eggs or cakes, TBH they get too much anyway, and its far too comercialised so easter spending for me is no different to the rest of the year!

It's DD's birthday so definitely not!! Did get all our eggs for a fiver from Asda's a couple of weeks ago though (4 for £5.00) so not too bad. We don't do cards, is it just me or is that a relatively new thing. MIL sends them but then she sends a card for everything!! Ironically I wouldn't say she is religious whereas my folks are and they don't send Easter cards...more commercialism I guess.

  • I don't do cards ( I think it is relatively new) Had to buy eggs for daughters and one for my mum, but not seeing anyone else so haven't bought any others. My main expense is that I buy my girls some new clothes.

I'm religious but love the whole chocolate egg thing. Anyway, Easter's a major festival so we're supposed to be celebrating :D

My parents don't eat much chocolate - might get them a creme egg each, but there's no point in buying anything bigger. Not sure whether to get my sister one, will have to check whether she's on a diet at the moment! Need to buy one for my landlord (a good friend and ex flatmate) but won't be seeing her until next weekend so am going to get it cheap on Tuesday.

My children get far too many so I've bought the three for £3.50 offer, one for each child plus one for my OH. They are going on an Easter Egg hunt too so will end up with gazillions of them!!

I will give a card to my grandmother who lives on her own, I'm popping over to see her today, she loves cards and will get a lot of pleasure out of it, I'll also pick up a bunch of tulips or daffodils as she can't get out much and will really appreciate this gesture.

That's it for me this year. :icotbaske :EasterBun :easter_ba :easter:

I think cards are a new thing too and feel quite grumpy at the thought that people might expect them from me... ;)

We buy eggs for nephews and niece(s) - previously this was OH's sisters kids (3), but now we've two more on my side but I'm making the most of them being little'uns so I've bought 3 eggs (3 for £3.50), an easter bonnet + chocolate coins (in the sale!) and nothing for the baby (only days old).

As we are going to a family get together on Easter Sunday I would have liked to have got a bag of Divine mini eggs to hand round generally but they've disappeared from the shops in the chocolate rush - not sure if these are standard or Easter stock as I last bought a bag in mid-Jan :easter_ba

I'm having a DFW easter by not eating chocolate as I'm on a diet. I might make an easter "egg" out of random things in the kitchen that I can eat. Sounds like a mission

Don't be too 'random' Amos ..... kitchen foil plays havoc with your fillings!!! but will definately not ruin the diet!

Definitely a DFW Easter for me! OH & I bought two Lindt dark choccy bunnies to nibble on tomorrow (except...ooops...my hand slipped earlier and I accidentally unwrapped it and ate half of it...) but I haven't bought any other eggs & I have dozens of nieces/nephews/great nephews etc. I just can't afford it and I don't live near them either so it would cost me ?? in petrol to go & deliver them as well.

I'm not religious either but I am glad everything will be shut tomorrow, people deserve time off and it annoys me when retail outlets open on significant holidays...just to prise more cash out of us all. Grrr.
