Can anyone help? I booked a holiday 4days ago over the phone in a Thomas cook store. The girl assumed my sons surname was the same as mine, she didn't ask ( i failed to say ) When we noticed ( thank god it was not at the airport ) the girl said there was a £30.00 charge as it was my fault as i had signed and checked it, yes ok i take responsibility. But the the price suddenly went up to £40.00, the booking form actually says £35.00. she had some guy on the phone i assume their booking office and unless i paid there and then no holiday. So do I have any rights to insist only a £35.00 charge, or should i just be grateful my husband noticed now and not as we got turned away from the airport!

Did you query why they were charging you £40 when it stated £35 on the form or did you not notice this until you got home? Have you rung them to ask why they charged you £5 more?0

are you due to travel soon ?
Normally the nearer the holiday gets the more admin charge you will pay !0 -
i am going into town today i do travel in 2 weeks time, but their so adamant that everything i signed for is correct. I know its my fault I'm just not impressed that the girl who took the info lied and said she read out my sons name over the phone, i think i might have picked up on that if she had.0

I think if you have a form that states £35 for an amendment and you were charged £40 then they need to explain why. I don't think maybe the tour operator lied, just probably made a mistake because she wouldn't be gaining from it if the charge was going to Thomas Cook.0

Life's rich tapestry, did you check the details before parting with cash. If answer no, see lesson No 1!0
