Hello,
I sent a laptop in for repair at currys due to a faulty screen.
A few weeks later i was told to pick it up from the store but when i got there it had been given to somebody else.
After a week of being missing it is now back at the store.
My concerns are that the coverplan is no almost up and somebody else has had the laptop for a week. Meaning i do not know what has happened to it or if it has been damaged internally in some way. Along with there extremely poor customer relations i feel like i am getting a raw deal.
Am i correct in what i am thinking or should i just pick the laptop up and hope it is OK. By that i mean damage which i cannot see and its still working.
thanks for any advice

It's pretty awful that they gave away the wrong laptop. Even so, if the person who had it thought it was theirs, they would have probably treated it as such.
Pick it up and check it, the store will know you if you return with it shortly after. Also, I believe (although getting this in practice has proven difficult) that if you return it again within 7 days, it still counts as from the first day of the first repair for the purposes of the 42-day guaranteed repair.
Also, you have them on the back foot given that they have made a mistake...they are more likely to be lenient to you on further issues.Squirrel! If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.

No wonder they now call their warranty "Whatever happens"0
