EDF naughty door2door salesman

Options
visiting one of my friends earlier and he had a knock at the door, it was an EDF salesman.

Wanting to offer him a cheaper rate, so after a few minutes preamble where he assured him that the EDF rate for Economy 7 was the cheapest in the UK, he asked if he had any bills to work out what his usage was, at least that bit he did correctly, he was given the usage for the past 2 years.

so after using his lovely little waterproof laptop. he declares he can provide his services for £168pm. & the biggest DD discounts on the market.

This is where it got entertaining, he never asked if he was on any specific tariff, so my mate logs onto his online account and show that he pays £72pm and is currently £36 in debit.

Ah ! he explains this is because SPower are not charging him the correct amount and as the year goes on it will only get worse, he needs to get onto the right amount as soon as possible to avoid building a huge debt by the end of the year.

I nearly burst out laughing, I know my mate is on the same fixed rate scheme as me from 2006 & spends December and January at his villa in Teneriffe.

Anyway to cut a long story short, he starts arguing that he is crazy to want to stay with a Spanish company that can't even get the right amount on his DD and he will get into terrible debt.

Now I did burst out laughing, we're sitting on a house worth around £400k and a £50k car in the drive and he's teling hm he'll get into terrrible debt.

Not once did he realise he was trying to compete with a 2006 tariff.
