No - They are in Administration. Looking for buyers. Going out of business.
Shame really.Who or what was I before you came in to my life

They marketed and recruited aggresively, supported by a major US company.
One of my managers approx 1 year ago had been headhunted to join them, but he refused.
No major loss, although it means more people unfortunately losing there jobs. There is a definite feeling of the possibility of a recession in the economy in the near future.0 -
where my silverscreen is located is not far from HMV,woolworths and smiths who all sell dvds, recently there was an mvc again not far from hmv, silverscreen, smiths and woolwoths, its a tough market to crack imoNo Links in Signature by site rules - MSE Forum Team 20

i think the whole dvd thing is a rip off.. 16 pounds for a film is just well overpriced and i think people just download films now.
I just downloaded most of lost season 2 cos i cant be bothered to wait 4 mont to watch it. its just about to finish in the US!0 -
its to start over here soon, prices of dvds are a factor too especially when you can get dvds cheaper than the high street off the internetNo Links in Signature by site rules - MSE Forum Team 20

Visited the Trafford Centre store yesterday, closing down signs, etc.
But the prices were no different than a month ago IMO.
In fact the sale at Music Zone had a few better bargains: Spider-Man 2 double disc DVD for £2.97!!0 -

The sale is a complete con..... it's upto 50% off the RRP. Let's face it, hardly any retailer sells at the RRP, and that's exactly why Silverscreen are in Administration.
I went into the Milton Keynes store yesterday.... and almost EVERYTHING was available cheaper elsewhere. They advertised Napoleon Dynamite as £8.99 from £15.99 yet it's £3.99 in Virgin & HMV.
Even King Kong was more £6 more than anywhere else, yet advertised as a bargain.....0
