Sky just activate the phone line. Don't they also provide you a simple telephone?

I signed up the TV, PHONE package with sky. Yesterday BT engineer had come to activate the phone line.

I am just wondering if sky don't provide or offer you any simple telephone? Do I have to buy one? (or they forgot to give me telephone)

Anyway, in case they don't provide phone, I wanna get a cordless one. There are a few which are on offer on Argos. Do you have any good phone to recommend me?(any...not only to be on argos website). Please suggest me some.

You have to provide your own phone in this day and age.

You also signed up with Sky for a TV service. Did you expect them to provide you with a TV?

Actually there is no need to be rude.

To answer the Op, not anymore. BT did used to supply you with a phone back in the 90's but they charged you for it monthly. My ex-landlady nearly died of shock when I pointed out how much she was paying for a basic telephone

That does not make any sense. I think my question is not that silly. Telephone is NOT TV. You can find telephone for just £2-3 so I think this won't cause their business to become bankrupt if they provide customers telephones. I asked because I thought they would provide a simple cheap telelphone. If I know they don't, I would have bought some cheap telephone before they activate the line so that I can just use the phone straight away after the line is activated.

Also years ago I signed up with Telewest (Virgin media), they also gave me a cheap telephone (but that might be a deal or something I don't remember). However I dumped it already a few weeks ago coz it's out of order.

By the way, last time you answered me about o2 broadband. You insisted that I won't be able to get o2 broadband. However, I can! :T so you are wrong.

You can be sure that Rupert Murdoch didn't get where he is today by giving away free telephones...
No telecoms provider provides phones free, even when BT had the monopoly the phone had to be rented at extra cost, used to be about £3 a quarter I think. So no-one would rent a basic phone now when they can be bought so cheaply.
I'm delighted you've got your O2 broadband on a Sky line. Just don't expect O2 to send you a free computer to work it with...

I was wondering the same thing, the issue here is whether Sky are supplying this LLU or not? He said in his earlier post that his exchange is LLU for Sky.
