Lewt employers love voluntary work, if they see you have been unemployed and you bothered with voluntary work it looks good. Your money wont be affected as long as you tell them. I dont know what benefits you are on so i really cant say more:) sorry.0

You always need to check with incapacity and income support obviously. Permitted work tho does not sound viable as you are on a means tested benefit, which means any money after the first 10 pounds (coz you are a couple) will be deducted pound for pound. I suggest you go see an incapacity specialist adviser, pathways to work, its called if you want to earn. As there is a financial incentive to go back to work, but obviously they will look at what you want to do as well coz you are still classified as being on the sick. Even could be part time to start with. Always ask for a "better off calculation".
Other than that yeh your right voluntary. But if you could do your counseling as an evening course you could be earning as well. If you start this course on i/s benefit i dont think you would be liable to pay anything either but you would need to ask the college. Good luck (sorry lewt forgot to say even tho income support pay you, you are on incapacity benefit. You havent paid enough national ins contributions to be on pure incap. Therefore i/s top you up with the money.) Sorry i hijacked this thread been reading for a while:)0 -

Went to Tesco tonight, lunches and teas for the week.
Very slow woman, chatting, at the self checkout. Fkin ignorant to be honest
Anyway she left a bottle of shirazSo I handed it in
Saves her drinking tonight
Bought myself an MP3 player, to avoid using my ipod and the kids seeing, to put my self help phobia CD onto. Listened to 5 minutes worth in the car, you can't relax, seemed a very simplistic idea of phobias, but I'll give it a go0
