It took a long time before my HP became a loving HP that wanted the best for me rather than the punishing, judgemental HP of my childhood. While that was happening I used the power of my group, nature and anything else I could hang on to.
Are you a belly dancer then?
I think its great you get help like that, anything that works, same as ever“Pleasure of love lasts but a moment, pain of love lasts a lifetime.”0 -

Al-Anon saved my sanity and gave me my life back. I was full of resentment at first cos it wasn't MY problem but now I'm grateful. I also pretty much understand the disease aspect of excessive drinking and can have compassion. Reading the posts on here I realise I don't understand why AA works for some but not others but I try to accept it.
Yes I'm a belly dancer but not an exotic eastern lovely:sad:That's life, it's just the way it is0 -

Nothing works for everyone, its just a fact. We're all different.“Pleasure of love lasts but a moment, pain of love lasts a lifetime.”0 -
I'm on and off a bit today.
My next thought is....
Those that don't have a higher being, seem less bothered about those that have one, having one, than those that have one about those that don't, not having one.
If you see what I mean0 -

I think its like a convert thing, when I first found out about this great thing I used, I went round telling everyone about it, because I really thought their lives would be improved, I knew it would, nobody wanted to know, I felt a bit like those people that come to your door on Sunday mornings asking you to think about telescopes
I came to the conclusion, everybody has to find out for themselves, me pushing them wasn't helping.

I think I'm with you
I try to just say how it was for me and I really try not to convert or preach - it's up to each person to take his own path. Having an HP in my life has made such a big difference though that I need to talk about it - just trying to be honest. Take what you like and leave the rest! That's life, it's just the way it is0 -
