IMO an alcoholic is a person with a need rather than a want to drink. And not just on set days, this would be most days, or everyday.

I dont think you are an alcoholic ganyam as you can control it, its not an addiction

I think thats a bit wrong, I answered yes to 2 of the questions and I drink about 6 units a month on average

Still dont get though, surley you can drink without being an alcoholic, yes an alcoholics drink is alcohol, but then that would be abuse would it not?

He means that you HAVE to have an alcoholic drink a need to have it, basically that anything else will not do.
