    morning all,

to kaz, hope you are feeling a bit better today. some sound advice on here. i know i have felt so low at times i've felt like i just want to run away from myself. i always think back to school days:eek: , and you go and see the "careers advisor", and they ask you what you want to do, and make it sound like the worlds a wonderful place, and you can do whatever you want, then you step outside, and you realise what a bag of poo it is. but i say one thing, NEVER underestimate your own worth. You are loved and valued, never forget that. my ds is 13, and i always feel i've failed him. don't know why, just that when i look back, i can always see the things i should have done for/to/with him, and am slow to give myself a pat on the back for all the things i HAVE done. strikes me you are similar! i always feel like i'm on a guilt trip for something i havn't done, instead of looking at all the things i have done, try to come in on yourself from a different angle. (((((hugs))))) kaz. thinkin of you.

susie, some sound thoughts posted on here already, and i don't really know what else to add, except to say keep trying, and keep beleiving in yourself, keep going, you can do it,:A remember that.

am proud of you al, all this cleaning up! will pm you directions to my house!;) washing and ironing as well, yea gods, where did i go wrong! glad the pigs made it through the week.

harrie, mich & beer, keep at it! you are all nothing short of wonderful!

got home just before midnight last night, oh didn't get the keys to his new place til 7.15 last night, so couldn't get much furniture in before it got too dark, but made a good start, and ds seems ok with it all, so so far, so good. oh is at work this am, so is comming round to get the rest of his stuff today, so i will be off here helping him take sofa, dismantle wardrobes and the like. still, by tonight it should all be done. the end of a very long road. oh and ds spent alot of time together assembling cabinets and the bed etc, so ds feels chuffed to be helping his dad, and oh has given him his own key (on a south park keyring lol!) so he says he feels fine about it all, now he knows his dad is ok and he can go anytime he wants. i have to say, oh's house is looking really cool, a right batchelor pad, ds is taking his playstation round, and i can just imagine the pair of them.........if only oh can keep the drink to sensible limits so he can enjoy time with ds:confused: . only time will tell.

    right, thats my lot!

    xxxxxxx

Ironing, is a case of flattening out work clothes, used to enjoy it more, found it relaxing. Then we had the front room "made up", poshed. Mrs Mac wont let me iron in front of the tele anymore:mad: So lost some of the appeal

PS Effectively abandoned at 16 for 6 weeks by parents and siblings. Had to learn how to do things for myself. Cooking still pants, grill bacon or a burger;)

What makes it even worse is that I need to take strong painkillers (dihydrocodeine for all you fellow nursey types) and daren't take any this morning as they will make me sick. So not only do I have hangover from hell but also in pain! You would think I would have more sense but it all goes out the window when I want to drink.

You are right al, Why 1? I do realise now that I can't just have a couple, need to stop completely.
    Morning susie and everyone else.

I worked out I could have a glass of wine or some liquers and be OK, but to have a beer or cider was bad, as I would always want to carry on. Its scarey when you start to realise stuff like that, it was like getting shot almost for me, when I realised I might never be able to drink beer again normally.

I wish I could tell you its going to be easy, but its not. All sense goes out of the window, where drinking is concerned, it all seems like its OK and right. But the next morning.......you just end up thinking, WHY?
You have to keep on wanting it, if you want someone to get tough with you, when you want to drink, ask them. You have to find what works for you.

On a slightly different tack, I left home when I was just 17, I think since then I've ironed 5 shirts in that time........and thats it, not bad at cooking though, it was either that or starve.

choccy party sounds a brill idea harrie! i was reading a mag yesterday (we got to the point where all the stuff was loaded up and then had to wait about 4 hours before we could do anything else) and there was an article about a woman who makes chocolate skulls, spooky! thought it might be enough to put me off chocolate, but then again, prob not! well, i don't think i could run to enough of them for a party at $143 a time! we'll stick to the thorntons continental shall we! maybe gpI would have enjoyed the other ones, but not this soft puzzycat.

    xx
