Well, to say i’m annoyed is to put it mildly.
On hotdealsuk i agreed a deal with someone for my iMac.
Trade my iMac for his 50” 1080p Samsung Plasma TV – he claimed to have recently gotten it from a friend who works at Samsung.
I was a bit dubious since my iMac had warranty remaining and his was just out.. So we agreed that he’d provide a 6 month personal warranty. If it developed a fault within the 6 months he’d either repair it at his own cost or replace it with one of equal size and specification. Put it all into a little 3 page agreement i drafted.
He turned up at my house with the TV functioning except one of the HDMI ports wasn’t getting a signal. He said he’d sort it ASAP and also confirmed at on the forum when he got home, claiming his mate had some engineers that ow’d him favours or he’d pay for the repair.
2 months later.. Still getting excuses ‘still haven’t gotten in contact with my mate’..
So i started to look at the small claims route, went to a drop in run by CAB. Apparently i got a 50/50 chance at small claims, be courts discretion. So i’ve decided not to pursue that route as i’m already in a bit of a legal tizzy with T-Mobile.
Possibly my own fault for putting some trust in him, but he had relatively good feedback.
I’m so annoyed right now i’m sorely tempted to drive down to his house (I have his address) and knock his bloody teeth out.. Unfortunately, i’m a reasonable and rational man. So i won’t.
