Although you would have to question those with high post counts as for their motivation. With such a hard market and increased compliance workloads, how do they find the time for the Pro Bono work or is it a guise to generate business indirectly.
Who says it is a hard market? Not having a go at anyone but I wonder why people hover over the boards most of the day offering advice when they should be servicing their own clients unless there is another motive.
Perhaps they have decent business models which allow it.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0 -

I used a broker to do my Right to Buy mortgage 8 years ago, thinking that they would guide me through a process that I knew little about. How wrong was I! 8 years down the line I am still suffering with ridiculous mortgage payments as well as paying for a Solicitor that I didn't even get to chose, let alone MEET!!
I knew that something wasn't right but I just couldn't put my finger on it. I contacted Bracewell Law after a friend had mentioned they had dealt with her PPI claim successfully and they assured me that I had a strong case with nothing to lose!!
Now all I have to do is relax for a few months and let the lawyers to their stuff!! They estimated that I could get over £5000!!!!! Not bad !!!
Seriously, taking up a claim is so worth it and all you have to do is sign a few forms and send off some photocopies.
easy peezy lemon squeezy!!!!!
JUST GOOGLE RIGHT TO BUY CLAIMS BRACEWELL!!
All anyone need do, is write to the broker or lender who advised and arranged their mortgage, setting out why and how the mortgage failed to meet their circumstances and affordability. If the broker or lender fails to answer the complaint to your satisfaction in eight weeks, you have the right to escalate the matter to the Financial Services Ombudsman.
You do not need a complaints handler to make your case for you. A single, simple letter is all that's needed.
Finally, please do not spam the board with a single post about a complaints handler as it makes one suspect you are in fact a "shill" who works for the firm in question.

press the spam button on it. New sign up, one post and its promoting a company that deals in an area that is rife with claims companies misleading people. You rarely see any successes on these style complaints. Yet they all claim they will get back over £5000.

Dear lord ! same here
Mind you - introduced solicitor who didn't meet for tea and biccies and the mortgage still needs paying (at the rate declared on the documents) when the client has run into financial difficulty 8 years later (or simply fancies a few bob from the system) !!
What claims company could resist it !Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -
The moderators can decide if you are spamming or not. As I said, every post concerns the site you link to.
I follow the MSE code of conduct by showing my status as required.
I do not, nor have I ever accepted business from this site. When invited to act by PM, I have always referred enquirers to independent brokers more local to them.I am a mortgage broker. The website Iain is pumping (I suspect there is some connection due to him being in the IT field. Is breaching quite a few trading laws (Him spamming them if there is a connection is one).
There is no address on the website, if anyone wants to know their address here it is (Worth a look) http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?hl=en&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.r_qf.,cf.osb&biw=1366&bih=643&q=4+arran+road+me15++9te&um=1&ie=UTF-8&hq=&hnear=0x47df319bbe182557:0xaabeb8d834658eaa,4+Arran+Rd,+Maidstone+ME15+9TE&gl=uk&ei=lmrMT6TqJMvB0gW93O3IAQ&sa=X&oi=geocode_result&ct=image&resnum=1&ved=0CAkQ8gEwAA
Not sure if their a Limited company of not (They should show their legal title on the website if they are), there is no sign of them on Company House so may be just Steve Strange t/a
Not sure if they need to be FSA registered or not
If anyone is interested, the website was created late last year0 -
Hi there. I am trying to find an IFA/mortgage adviser to give us some advice and see what/if we can borrow etc and I'm not having much luck! I've had 2 recommendations from friends and I contacted both but neither of them called me back! (must be too busy?!). What do I do, should I just do a google search for one in my area? My husband has always used a guy attached to a local estate agent but I'm reading it would be best to have someone independent? I'm just a bit wary of plucking someone out of the yellow pages so to speak?!0

Recommendation is usually the way to go but you seemingly have had no luck there. If your husband is happy with the broker he has used previously then this may be the way to go.
Other than that try yell.com, google and https://www.unbiased.co.uk. Take out the sponsored ones only before searching.
