Hi Techies
I am looking at buying the dell 924 wireleess all in one printer to go with my 1300 laptop and dell compauter. However it says the wireless adaptor is £69  . More than the printer.Do I need this adaptor to connect to my laptop, can I do it without this or can I get a cheaper adaptor elsewhere ?
Many thanks- dont know what I would do without you all ! ( or maybe it is your fault that dumb me can surf the net !!!!;) )
have good day

Why not just use the USB cable to connect to which ever 'puter you want to use? Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0

The cheapest way to connect it to your laptop is to use the supplied USB cable.
If you want to connect it wirelessly then you need a wireless network (i.e. a wireless router) and a wireless print server, which is what the Dell Wireless Printer Adapter is. A quick search brings up a few cheaper options than the Dell device. Just make sure it has a USB socket.0 -
I have a netgear wireless router already and I dont want to use a usb cable as the laptop is a second computer- usually used in a different room from the main printer .So being able to connect wireless would be brilliant.0

you could connect it via usb to the second computer, and share it off that, then print wirelessly. It wouldn't cost anything, but the second PC would need to be switched on to print from the laptop.Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0

i think this is what you are looking for. They have this 3com wireless print server from misco at £33.82 + shipping

I have an Acer laptop and a HP 2575 all in one printer. The Acer has built in bluetooth (but a dongle would do the job just as well) and I have an Hp BT450 Bluetooth printer adapter in the printer, just in the USB connection.
I don't need to use a wireless router or a printer server (?)
The HP bt450 adapter costs around £20.
Simple!0
