Buying a new car from online brokers?
Hi,
Has any body had any experience of buying a new car online through a broker?
After much haggling we managed to negotiate a price with the car dealer of £22400 for a new car but have managed to find the exact same car online through a broker for £19372.50 which is a huge saving and considering we have our first baby on the way any saving is great!:T
However i am slightly nervous as i have never bought a new car before let alone online! The website offers lots of re assurance as it would and it says you only deal with the main dealer which gives me some piece of mind.
The garage is putting a lot of pressure on for us to sign up with them  but i want to make sure i am getting the best deal but dont want to tell the garage where to go if using a broker isn't very good!
I noticed that Martin has mentioned a few as well. I have looked at DrivetheDeal and Dealdrivers who are both quoting around the same price.
Does anyone have any experience of using this method, if so any advice would be appreciated!
Many thanks.
Kim.

We used drivethedeal 2.5 years ago. Excellent service. Car ordered and £500 deposit paid. They called us to say which dealer would be handling the sale and that was our dealings with them over.
4 weeks later we paid the money to the dealership and the car arrived a couple of days later.0 -
I have used a broker once before and was very pleased, no problems at all, but of course like anything in life there are always good and bad ones. Check on Google perhaps for any reviews of your chosen broker, often a good indication.
Also as you indicate you are buying brand new, just a caution. With the recession there have been a LOT of brand new cars stored at depots around the country for two to three years now. If you buy one, technically it could be registered as 09 or 59, but it's actually possibly an 07, for example, car. It always happens to some extent but it's a lot worse just at the moment. Worth checking with broker if they can tell you exactly what the build date of your chosen car is.0 -
I got mine from DrivetheDeal last August. no problems, UK model, dealer backup, huge savings and a very pleasant experience.0
