Topshop Refund Thruogh Paypal - ripped off?

Options
I paid for a skirt on Topshop.com with Paypal, but ended up sending it back for a refund as it didn't fit. The price was £12, but after it went through Paypal I only got £13.12 back. Are they allowed to do that??

You got more back than you paid?
    Squirrel!
If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.

  • Was the skirt £15, do you mean?

Did they send it as another transaction?

If they did then it might be the fees.

I would ring um up and say "Refund me through the original purchase, so I don't get fees"

On face value your post suggests you got back £1.12 more than you paid but you say " I only got £13.12 back" which suggest you got back less than you paid

I wonder if they didnt refund the postage

The Distance selling regulations should apply here unless it states in there terms and conditions regarding refunds within 7 days on DSR including return postage they you should get a full refund

No, I don't get postage refunded. I got my email to say the skirt price of £12 would be refunded. As I paid through Paypal the payment came back to me via there, so all I can think is that Paypal have taken off their fees in order to put the payment through to my account. That just seems wrong to me!

It does sound like paypal have taken the fees, but usually when a refund is given through paypal (they used to for ebay, anyways) they refund the whole amount, as long as the money is refunded through paypal, rather than just being sent through paypal.

Your Paypal account will show any fees that have been taken off and if the money was a payment or refund.

They don't charge fees for refunds.

I would just leave it, to much hassle!
