Second/part time jobs

A few weeks back , there was a nice discussion on here regarding part time/ second jobs.

Did anyone act on the ideas given and get a second job.

Just a quick one , some of the comapnies taht do stewarding at sports events etc often advertise for odd days. There was one in the job centre last week for people to work at Brands Hatch helping with parking. It invovles 3 hours hard work stewarding people. An hour walkign around tidy litter. A lunch , watch some sport , tidy up again and then help cars out follwoe dby another litterpick. 12 hours shift. Around £6.25 an hour. But do that for two days and you should clear £100 after tax.

I didnt do it as it clashes with my other jobs.

Just intrested if anyone actually got a second or 3rd job.

Currently I have

One 6mth Contract doing M-f 8 -4
One delvery job doing Fri Sat and Sun 5 - 10
Computer advise and excel work as and when

My main job is Deputy Manager for a supported housing association but I also work frequently for another housing association, in a day centre/ drop in centre for people with mental health problems. It seems like a bit of a busman's holiday but I tried shop, pub and restaurant work and hated it like anything.

Ever wonder about those people who spend £2 apiece on those little bottles of Evian water? Try spelling Evian backward.

I guess im lucky in that I can switch off from boring jobs. Well I was paid to watch a clock 14 hours a dya 3 days a week. Literally watching a clock. At that time , I had aspirations to watch paint dry. Never made it that high

The clock was a clock on a screen that was the only way off knowing if the mainframe had crashed. If the clock stopped , I had to phone a guy in manchester who would push a button.

i didnt get a second job, I did however look around a bit, but couldnt really find anything that was worthwhile insofar as what money I would have come out with seemed fairly negligible. I found a sat job, which after tax& NI would have come out with 130 a month, not quite enough to lose my weekends for. I can barely get up for work as it is, so a bar job would have scuppered my day job- not advisable!!!

I would like to do some evening home care for older people locally, but havent found anything as yet. But my eye is out!

i wish i could find something worth while for the weekends

i wanted to do bar work, but i dont get home from my main job til 7.30 every weekday evening and have to get up at 5.30am so week nights are written off

i did try putting letters in envelopes...... (i was up til 2 one morning trying to get the amount done on time for a pittance!) needless to say i will never do that again!

oh well, there must be something out there with my name on!
