What sort of questions does OR ask ?

Hi
After the bankruptcy at the court, what sort of initial questions does the OR ask ?

Just wondered as hubbie's got his tommorrow, and want him to be able to answer any questions he gets.

Although I'm not part of BR, I have done most of the paperwork & admin for last few months, added to which he's got a memory like a sieve and dont want his "Vagueness" to come across as being obstructive or hiding something.

Many thanks

Hmm this is an interesting question, wonder if there could be something like this (with answers obviously) posted as a sticky?

P.S Haven't had one yet so don't know the answers but will be very interested to read.

Basically, kew - the OR interview will be based around the form that you/your OH filled in prior to bankruptcy. Generally, the OR will only 'deviate' from those questions in order to elaborate his original answers and get more specific information, or if the original answers were a bit vague.
The 'specifics' are likely to include things such as vehicles, high value possessions, bank accounts, premium bonds and interest in property.
If your husband is having a 'face to face' interview, the questions, and answers, will be recorded, in writing, by the OR, in the form of a statement and your husband will be asked read and to sign the 'statement' as a true record at the end of the interview.
However, the above is based on my own experience and, as others will confirm, there is no guarantee of 'consistency' between individual OR officers, but just tell him to be prepared to answer both generally and honestly.
Also, tell him not to worry - the OR is not there to 'judge' in any way - my OR went out of her way to make me feel at ease.

If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.

Funny though - made me laugh :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Thanks for the replies though, just good to know what may come up. With things that refer to me eg. the house would the OR want to speak to me or be ok with taking hubbies word it's all in my name ?

Just have to make sure hubbie puts on his "memory" head tomorrow or the OR will think he's speaking to a loon !!!

they will just ask can you remember what you did with ex amount

if you dont know or choose not to say just say you cant remember as someone said earlier they will just cross ref the statement of affairs with you confirm all debts amounts the last time you made a payment to them and who if you dont know or cant remember they will find out its just their job.its no where near as bad as you think its going to be.

I doubt that the OR will want to actually talk with you, kew, but he/she may contact you in writing to confirm ownership of the house.
The only 'potential' problem that could arise is if the OR attempts to claim that your husband has any 'Beneficial Interest' in the house - you may be asked to prove that he does not, or did not, contribute towards either its purchase or maintenance.
