a need to know if you want a payout

if your ill on the day of travel and cant get to see a doctor you will not get paid. it happened to me so if you get swine flu you got no chance of a payout as doctors wont see you. i just checked with insure&go ,my insurer and they said they will consider it. when i told them they did nt pay out for me when i had diarrhea and sickness as was too ill to drive to the doctors that day and that with swine flu you cant see a doctor they just said "well we consider all cases." there s no way they will pay you. its a disgrace and if the mother of a family became ill ,the whole family would not travel and not get paid unless she was well enough to get to a doctor on the same day. the last thing you think about is your insurance and most people would nt even know they have to see a doctor same day or there insurance claim is not valid. the eurostar people just told me insurance companies dont cover pandemics trying to get me to buy their insurance even though i told them i have annual cover, when i told them they wont pay unless you see a doctor she did nt know what to say but just babbled on saying oh yes you will be covered. i think there will be a lot of angry people this summer not getting paid out for honest claims due to insurance companies playing on fears yet never telling you what to do if you become ill to insure you can get paid.

Doctors can't refuse to see you.
If you were ill enough to justify cancelling a holiday you were ill enough to see a doctor and get enough proof for an insurance claim.
At the moment swine flu is not enough to claim for through a lot of insurers. it may also be excluded now under pandemic clauses.
Overall I am not surprised you didnt get a pay out.0 -
Doctors do make house calls and test kits are being sent out for H1N1.
I am absolutely gobsmacked that people expect insurers to just take their word for it.
If I had diarrhea then I'd ask the doctor do visit or use sanitary towels and an extra pair of trousers rather than miss out on a payout.
Sorry to be so detailed but it's seems necessary to point out that it is not impossible.
I also do get complete debilitating migraines.
Sometimes I can hardly get out of bed and it's a terrible effort to use the phone or get dressed.
So I know what it's like to be completely debilitated, but I would get my partner/friends/colleagues/neighgours to carry me to the car if necessary.
You honestly can't expect then to just payout because you say so.0 -
