Does anyone have wanadoo wireless? They say they will supply a router and an adaptor which can be used for a laptop. I asked if my wife could access the system with her laptop at home which has a card for wireless access at work. Wanadoo say I would need to buy a 2nd adaptor from them. Am I better getting my own router and card/adaptor or are wanadoo incorrect?
Thanks

If you use the forum search facility and look for wanadoo livebox, you should find a few posts when this has been discussed before. Basically the livebox is locked so that it will only connect to that ISP, so if at a later date you wanted to change to another ISP, you would need to get new equipment. It only uses WEP encryption which is far less secure than WPA, which has become the norm now. I would go for your own Netgear etc. PCworld have some Easter offers on. i.e. Netgear DG834G + USB dongle for £60. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0
