Mental Health Charity

Hello, I've been told there is an organisation that helps service people with resulting mental health issues. Does anyone know the name or have any information on them please.

In addition to Combat Stress, all mental health trusts have been directed by the dept of health to have a policy, stategy and treatments in place to support ex service people of any age who are experiencing mental health problems including alcohol and substance misuse. Most Trusts already have everything in place.

  • Thank you Errata.

Sadly our PCT has opted out of many of the services, treatments and therapies offered by the local mental health unit due to costs. They now only provides a CPN or if you are deemed serious/dangerous a referral to a hospital (a consultant lottery) and have not been supportive of this type of trauma related problem.

Sorry to hear that and hope the PCT starts to see sense. Part of a CPN's role is to ensure someone has access to the treatment they need. Complain. Or get the Legion to complain.

  • Sorry, I but I may have unintentionally misled you. I am asking on behalf of a relative who has struggled for many years but recently things have deteriorated.

Thank you for your help and I will let you know how things go.
