Bathroom renovation....supplies?

Hi guys

I'd really appreciate some suggestions on the best places (in terms of price vs quality) to get bathroom fittings. Victoria plumbing seems to have great prices but I've seen some bad reviews.#

Any thoughts?

Thanks
Hug

Good morning: Stick with name brands eg. Twyford, Ideal Standard, Mira, Aqualisa, Bristan etc. Check online retailers for prices and see if the plumbers merchants of your choice can price match....some independent merchants also have online shops eg Allbits(Kent based).

Thanks for your response, and also that to my (off-topic) query on the other thread. I do have a PTS near me and would like the opportunity to look around a showroom before finding the best price on the internet. I'm a bit wary of buying something I think I like of the web without having seen it in the flesh first.

**I'm new to this renovation/ home improvement lark, and don't know where to start so your advice is appreciated**

I always go to my local plumbing merchant called City Plumbing. They are throughout the south east.

FYI- and if anyone has any recommendations- I live in the North West (specifically Manchester)

That's a different URL to the one i have of http://www.tapsbiz.com/ ..one you linked to appears to be Allbits Plumbing Supplies (Romney)

Yes... it is in New Romney and it is a proper plumbers merchant...we picked up a shower enclosure there last week. There is also an Allbits in Whitstable at the John Wilson Business Park by Sainsburys which we've used also(and the one in Medway/Strood in your link). Allbits galore in Kent.;) They're all listed on the Companies House website (I always check registration there as a matter of course before we use an online supplier)

Btw...the Construction Centre is a good one to bookmark for all things building supply related

Hi, I got my bathroom from Jewsons. I got Bristan taps which I shopped around for on the Internet and printed off the prices and Jewsons price matched anything that wasn't cheaper through them. I found my bathroom suite (Twyfords) was cheaper through Jewson than I could find online.

Have you had a look in Porcelenosa
(not sure exact spelling) we recently
went there its lovely quality and it
can be as reasonable as any where
on price. We got ours there and made
a good saving.25% off everything at
the moment.it worked out a lot cheaper
than Bathstore.it also included the taps
    plug etc

Also B&Q have 20% off their tiles at the
    moment.

Ir your using Unibond tile on walls anti mould
shower & bathroom waterproof adhesive &
grout, the giant bucket is £29.99 but in
Homebase they have the large bucket with
100% free, this makes it the same size as
the giant one and costs £17.65.

  • bought bathroom suite from porcelenosa, taps lasted a week before breaking, very very unhelpful in getting the taps changed

    future buyers beware
