Hi guys i am used to using ebay mostly, but am after something on ebid, what like is this to use,how safe and what is it like to buy from a seller,i know neg feedback can be left with ebay its been about longer and i just feel a little safer using it with any probs.
But what about ebid do they offer and do the same as ebay and i see my seller offers paypal i take it if paying that way would be a safe way to pay if any problems,i see the seller has good feedback and all looks good, but why would someone sell on there and not on ebay,is it cause they are sick of ebays fees etc.
I am just new to ebid and wanted to know more about it and the sellers that use it and sell on it,as i want something on there i have found cheaper than anywhere else but would not want to get it,if its a dodgy auction site with some dodgy sellers.
Anyway some feedback on this auction site would be great and how safe etc it is to use

You don't get full paypal buyer protection on ebid but you get basic protection as you would from any other site. So if your item fails to arrive you can make a claim, but unlike paypal on ebay you would only get a refund if seller has funds in their account to repay you. There is no SNAD claim though.
Many sellers use ebid as well as ebay (you can do a forum search as we do have an ebid thread mainly aimed at sellers that you might want to browse). However there is an unfortunate tendency for people to crow about going to ebid as a seller when they get banned by ebay and as a user of ebid I find this quite frustrating especially as ebid themselves seem to encourage it. I think that sort of publicity is very bad.
To reasure you though I have never been banned from ebay and I listed stuff (never sold a bean) for over 5 years on ebid and I have bought on there as well.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
