Are laptop CD/DVD roms all the same fit?

Quick question: Are all Laptop (internal) DVD/CD roms all the same (just like Desktop pc are) or do they come in different sizes?

Yes I mean the physical fit/conectivity - basically the one I have is dead and I was thinking of replacing it but dont know whre to get one - if they are standard fit I can pick one up of ebay cheaply.Bismillah0
