Most people got their compensation from their individual gas companies either as a cheque or a discount off their bill.

I know what you are talking about even without the full post.

I had a nightmare thinking I was going to have to BBQ Christmas dinner for 17 LOL

Thanks nearly Dropped a pen on keyboard and message went through. My Son has received nothing despite being without gas for 3 days until engineers reconnected. His neighbour has been told they do not know if the area was involved!!!!!!!!!! When he rings he cannot find anyone dealing with this matter and he cannot afford to make long expensive calls as he has been made redundant.
    What now?

If I remember correctly it was £25 for every full day you were off supply. The compensation was paid by National Grid (through xoserve) to your supplier who then should have passed it on to you. You should have had it by the end of February at the latest I would have thought.

We were off from early afternoon on 22nd to late 24th, we didn't get our compensation in the time frame so we got an extra £20, we also got £30 for each day we were off so total of £80. First step is to call the gas supply company he pays his bill to and ask them to sort it out, they will say it's not their responsibility but if he is persistant they will sort it out.

I have just done a search on Rossendale On Line where we all posted our updates at the time but I can't find any useful numbers except for National Grid: 0845 605 6677
