Non-Paying Bidder - Help

Ok, to keep all informed a buyer won, but he decided to default on this. So a non-paying bidder alert was filed.

How do I close this, but so I can leave negative feedback and so he can't retaliate with negative feedback.

Cheers

P.S. - I have found a collection agency who will happily arrange collection of the amount but is this extreme for these non-paying bidders.

Sorry, you can't do that. Why would the buyer leave you negative anyway? I've never had a retaliation to any of the negs that I've left.

I'm surprised to hear that as I don't think the legally binding nature of an eBay bid has ever been proven under UK law. Please post details as I'd love to talk to them! I'm sure other sellers are in the same boat.
    Can I help?

The company I have found is located at the following link

    http://www.danielssilverman.co.uk/

When I contacted them about the problems I have with alot of bidders they responded with the following

My name is ***** ********** and I am one of the in-house business debt advisors here at Daniels Silverman. I have just been passed your details with regard to problems you have with bad debts.

E-bay transactions that have not been paid for are a common thing we deal with. We do not a have a flat fee per debt taken on board, we have a commission charge of 15% which is usually payable by the debtor so you end up getting the full amount owed to you.

For us to handle these debts for you we would have to get you registered, to go into further details you can call me on 0870 8890 371 ext 231, or you can e-mail me back with your contact number and I will give you a call.

I look forward to doing business with you.

So maybe this is something ebay sellers can start to use.

On the point of negative feedback, of course the buyer will leave negative feedback.

Obtain the buyer's contact details from Ebay, phone them and give them a last chance to pay. If they don't then leave neg and take any neg from them on the chin.
    Happy chappy

There contact information is invalid and has been reported to ebay for this. They reminded him but his information is still the same.

If the dispute shows you are eligible to close it and have your FVFs repaid *and* the buyer never formally responded to the dispute then the buyer can no longer leave you feedback.

All that happens is that if he tries to leave feedback the rating is removed immediately, the comments still remain, and you can respond to them, but that is all.

Wonderful new rule, I've gained from it several times already as it cam ein last December.

Daniels Silverman will chase anything - they're seen a lot chasing "debts" for parking companies over on https://www.pepipoo.com.

They're one of those firms whose letterhead is made to look suspiciously like a firm of solicitors'.

Well you cannot leave negative feedback anyway, so that's out of the way not even a false positive so don't be tempted.

    Do as Soolin says
